During my tenure at Bell and Howell, I was responsible for placing product data sheet copy into layout and creating graphics to use in these pieces. The documents were typically one double-sided page in length and included a banner graphic at the top of the front page representative of the product.
In the case of hardware data sheets, machine photos were often used; for software and services, a more abstract representation was usually created, using stock art to create an appropriate collage. Additional artwork was created to use throughout the documents as needed when space allowed.
The data sheets all used an established template provided to us by a third party and was adjusted by me as needed on a case-by-case basis.
